Artwork by Kareena Zerefos

After recently relocating and starting to sift through boxes that I haven't opened for months I found this little treasure wedged into a old notebook. My new little companion hangs at my desk with me. He's a cute boy with a fox hat who has a look of wonder in his eyes.  Not even sure what his name is but he keeps me company throughout the day.

The best part is that once I dug into it a little more I found that this exact piece is artwork created by Sydney born, London based artist Kareena Zerefos.  Even better it's a piece that she did for a Temper Trap song called "Little Boy" that was made for Buzz Off, which is an organization that supports A World Without Malaria.  Bonus bread!!!  Check it out here to donate and download the song!

The simplicity of her graphite sketches with a hint of color gives an illusive and whimsical feel to her little characters, as if they are real and about to move off the page. I have to say she is one of my new favorites.

Share the love, to see more of Kareena work visit her website and say hi on Twitter and Facebook!  If you are in Sydney stop by and check out her work in the Gaffa Gallery starting March 8th.
