Here is a stunning belt buckle made out of a rich cherry wood with black epoxy butterfly motif. The dragonfly motif was hand cut using a scroll saw and not laser cut. The buckle is made up of multiple layers of thinly sliced wood and then glued and bent over a form to add a slight curve to the wood. This is done to add a bit of dimension to an otherwise flat piece of wood. The backer wood is made up of a hard maple which is very durable and often used for wooden mallets and baseball bats. The buckle back hardware is attached with a strong epoxy and also screwed in place. The buckle is also finished with multiple layers of a durable hand rubbed Tung oil to bring out the full richness of the cherry. Please note that the grain of the cherry will differ slightly than the one pictured.
The buckle measures 2" wide by 3" long and it accommodates a standard 1 1/2" wide belt.
