I loved the book "Where the Wild Things Are" when I was a kid. Though I don't recall being sent to bed without supper, I do remember that feeling of being powerless, the frustration of being misunderstood and not taken seriously, and how difficult it was to process those emotions, so easily betrayed by hot angry tears.
Books were (& still are) a source of comfort for me and I loved turning the pages and being absorbed by the Wild Thing illustrations. The drawings are so beautiful that they certainly don't need an update, but I really enjoyed exploring my own wild world of terrible yellow eyes!
